Artist Statement

I never thought of art, or in this case illustration, as a career. My real dream was to be a princess. That can’t happen so, I went back and chose illustration. The art I create uses mixed media, watercolor, photoshop, and illustrator. My body of work is diverse and versatile with a mixture of traditional and digital illustration, advertising, package design, as well as other creations. My style of drawing depends on the type of project I’m doing. Using line weight and value I can manipulate my drawings from being a simple cartoon style to a more elaborate illustration. To incorporate emphasis to my work, I use my attention to detail as well as a balanced composition. With my overactive imagination I combine skill, use of color, and my exploration of creativity to give playful, animated, and interesting design qualities to my body of work.
